Foundation of Friendship  Tammy and Maria are best friends and have been for years. This friendship is a source of continual strength and encouragement for both. Tammy is the mother of four who range in age from five to seventeen. Maria is the mother of four ranging in age from twelve to eighteen. Needless to say, a good adult friend with similar circumstances is a blessing to any stay-at-home mom. Tammy and Maria started to make soap "for fun and a distraction" in the summer of 2002. They soon shared some samples with friends and the response led them to participate in local craft shows. From that beginning they founded the Savannah River Soap Company and quickly grew to participate in home parties, many craft shows around the southeast, and to wholesale their products in local stores. Through the process, they expanded their products to include solid lotions, salt scrubs, lip balms, and more. Savannah River Soap has now grown into Shabbybath to reflect more of the creativity and personality of the founders.Need for Personal Renewal Yesterday was hectic but today may never end. The pace of today's lifestyle is hurried. We don't even have time to slow down and recognize the toll it is taking. It is a world away from the life that our grandparents and great-grandparents knew. We have memories of growing up in the South where even thirty years ago that pace was much slower. Some of the wonderful benefits of natural, hand-crafted soap and bath products are found in this website but none compare with the personal renewal that can take place when we take a little time out for some solitude and care for ourselves. Many have told Tammy and Maria of how rejuvenating it was to lock the door and treat themselves to a whole body salt scrub treatment and afternoon bath with products that are all natural and personally hand-crafted.
